Service Area

The Ardmore Progressive Civic Association (APCA) services Lower Merion Township residents and commercial properties in South Ardmore. The civic association is bound by 3 civic associations (Ard-Wood, North Ardmore, and Haverford) and the Montgomery County/Delaware County border.

The street boundaries are Lancaster Ave (North), County Line Road (South), Cottage Ln/Haverford College (West), and Simpson, Drexel, and Linwood Ave (East).

The APCA meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM except July and August.  Special meetings may occur at other times based on community need.

The meetings rotate throughout the service area to ensure access to each community.  See the Events tab for meeting locations.

Meeting agendas are emailed the week prior to the meeting. The meeting agendas are also posted at various locations within the community.

Monthly membership fees are $10 per calendar year.

Community issues relating to quality of life and Township matters are discussed and shared. There are often presentations by land developers, elected representatives, and local businesses that seek community input. Township staff, vendors, and other institutions also provide information relevant to APCA residents at meetings. The Township encourages all commercial and large scale residential land development projects to be presented to local civic associations prior to presentation to the Township Zoning Board and Board of Commissioners.

The local Lower Merion commissioner (Steven Lindner) provides a monthly report at meetings regarding Township issues/votes and seeks community guidance on upcoming legislation.  This is also another opportunity to get face time with local elected officials in a less formal and more relaxed setting. The APCA enjoys strong ties with their PA State elected officials.

The APCA participates in the Lower Merion Township Federation of Civic Associations and provides input to Federation initiatives.

The APCA is non-partisan and takes no official position on political endorsements.

The APCA will take official position as it relates to land development, Zoning Hearing Board, or actions to be voted on by the Board of Commissioners.
